About Sarah

Hi there, my name is Sarah and I am an 19 year old university student living in Eugene, Oregon. I am currently studying Computer Science (as a major) and Digital Arts: Multimedia (as a minor). I have huge a passion for computers and specifically web development and design. Offline I tend to have a shy, reclusive disposition but online I am a bit more social and expressive towards my friends and almost anyone I meet. If it helps to know, I have an INTP Personality Type. Some of my hobbies include web design, graphic design, reading, writing, listening to music, and drawing. I also enjoy watching anime, movies, and certain TV shows, as well as reading manga, and playing video games. I spend most of my time on the internet though, as I have an intense devotion to maintaining all of my websites. Because of this I can sometimes be a hermit, so to compensate for my lack of physical activity I do enjoy biking, walking, and the occasional morning workouts. I used to play saxophone and acoustic guitar, but I haven’t practiced either in a while unfortunately. My birthday is on October 31st which is Halloween, it may sound like fun but sometimes it’s just annoying having my birthday shared with a holiday.

My best friend is my sister, Leah who is three years older than me. We have a really close relationship as siblings; I honestly don’t know what I’d do without her sometimes. I wish I could say my relationship with my parents was as well-off, but we have our ups and downs. I like to think that I’m a mellow-tempered person, and I try to be flexible and understanding. I’m not very good at making friends because I’m so ridiculously shy, so I tend to gravitate towards the people who approach me first. Once I get to know someone I think my true personality shines through, though I may be soft spoken I can also be incredibly sarcastic and even a bit crude. When I’m in the mood I can also be a bit spontaneous and random! For the most part I’d say I’m a neat and organized person, I generally like to keep my things clean though I wouldn’t say I’m obsessive about it.

I think it’s easier to get to know someone if you know their interests, so I guess I’ll list some of my favorite things! As I said earlier, I love music. My all time favorite band is Modest Mouse, but I like a wide variety of musicians and genres of music. I am quite devoted to my music though, I collect CDs as a hobby and it’s about the only thing I spend my money on. You can check out my last.fm page if you want to know what I like to listen to. I like many anime series, but some of my favorites are Baccano!, Death Note, Soul Eater, D. Gray Man, and Lovely Complex. I used to like anime and manga a lot more than I do now, but I’d definitely still include it as an interest of mine because I still watch or read a series here and there. Some of my favorite movies include Fight Club, Donnie Darko, The Batman Series, and too many others to list. As for books I generally like anything by Kurt Vonnegut or Niel Gaiman. My taste in TV Shows is really a variety as well, my all time favorite show is Dexter. But I also like comedies, dramas, sci-fi, and animation. To be honest I don’t watch too much TV besides the few shows that I do like. I guess that didn’t really help because most of it was me going on about how broad my taste in everything is. Sorry, but at least I was being honest!

As for my political standpoint, it’s basically all over the place. I refuse to affiliate myself with a political party because I tend to think that all of them a pretty fucked up. I would say in general on all social issues I believe in individual freedom, therefore I am pro-choice, anti-gun control, pro-gay-rights, etc. My views on economic politics tend to vary, but to be honest I don’t really like talking about politics that much probably because have a cynical viewpoint but also I have the “I’m too young to care” mentality. But to be honest, I imagine even when I’m older I won’t really care. I am an atheist, which really only means that I don’t believe in god. As much as I dislike religion I would never discriminate against someone for their choice in religion. I do however like to talk/debate about religion so forgive me if I say something blatant or offensive, I promise it wasn’t intentional!
